Audio Codecs When saving to an AVI format the codec dialog box will display all the AVI audio codecs installed on your computer. Those with a green bullet are generally compatible with all video codecs. A blue bullet indicates that the codec may not be compatible with all video codecs. Yellow bullets mean that the codec has some limitation that is generally not supported for AVI files. A red bullet usually indicates that the codec cannot be used to create your new AVI file.
When saving as an MPEG format the options are limited to the audio bit rate. Using other than 224 k bits per second for VCD an 384 k bits per second for MPEG-2 may make your output file incompatible with some CD and DVD burning software or it might prevent playback in stand alone VCD or DVD players.
Note: If your source file uses three channel Dolby © audio it will be converted to stereo.
