Batch Conversion The batch converter creates a list of files that you want to convert. MPEG-1, VCD, SVCD and DVD output are supported but the format setting must be applied to all files in the list. Please note that this utility is only available for 30 days in the free version. The interface provides an automatic target naming option which will append an underscore and a parenthetical number between the original file name and the file extension. If a file with the constructed name already exists, the number is incremented until the name no longer conflicts with an existing file.
When automatic target naming is on, the browse window changes to a multi selection interface. The left panel displays a Windows Explorer tree while the right panel displays movie files in the selected folder. Holding down the Shift key and clicking two files will select the two files and all files between the two. Holding the Ctrl key and clicking files will select or unselect the files. Click OK to import all the selected files.
If automatic target naming is turned off a target name must be selected before a new entry can be made to the list.
Browsing for a source or target uses the standard Windows common dialog box.
Stopping the process during conversion will cancel the entire batch.
To load the batch encoder from a command line use the syntax: FxMPEGWriter.exe [Format=(mpeg-1,{vcd},svcd,dvd)], SourceFile1,[SourceFile2],[SourceFile3]...
The source file names must be separated by commas and there can be no commas in the file names. If the Format option is omitted or invalid, VCD is assumed. A non-existent source file will cause an error. If the command line is properly formed the batch converter will start and minimize until completion.
